Beauty And The East

Cover for P&O Our World Magazine

That classic postcard view of Hong Kong with a junk boat was in my mind long before I visited the city for the first time. It reminds me those old Chinese movies I used to watch when I was a kid.

These ancient Chinese vessels once used for fishing throughout Asia are now a symbol of the city and used merely for recreational purposes but somehow I didn’t see many when I was there. I was specifically looking for this view from the Victoria Harbour waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui so my first morning in the city I headed down for a walk along the harbour and this boat was the only one I could see! Perhaps it was too early but Hong Kong was only a stop over and I wanted to make the most of my 3 days in the city. I couldn’t take many photos as the boat was fast but I was pleased with this one.

The image has been licensed this season by P&O Cruises for the cover of their Our World Magazine. I was so happy to receive it last week, it looks great!
